Need power where there is no hookup, or light for night shifts and short Alberta winter days? Lybroco Rentals rents towable Caterpillar diesel generators and Generac LED light towers in Edmonton for job sites, yards and temporary power.
Generator or light tower: what do I need?
| If you need… | Look at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Power for tools, heaters, site trailers or temporary service | Towable generator (35 or 60 kVA) | Portable diesel power you can tow to site |
| Light over a work area at night or in winter | LED light tower | Four LED fixtures on a 23 ft mast with its own 6 kW generator |
| Both | A generator plus light towers | Size the generator for your tools; the light tower runs on its own |
Sizing a generator
Add up everything you plan to run at the same time. Motors, compressors, pumps and heaters can draw much more power for a moment when they start than when they are running, so leave headroom for starting loads. Bring us a list of your equipment (make, model and nameplate amps or watts) and we will help you size it.
Both of our generators can be set for 480/277 V three-phase, 208/120 V three-phase or 240/120 V single-phase, per Caterpillar’s spec sheets, and both are rated for more than 24 hours of run time on a tank.

Delivery, pick-up and hours
Delivery area: we deliver across the greater Edmonton area, including Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Leduc, Nisku and Fort Saskatchewan. Our own trucks run within about 160 km of our yard, and we can arrange delivery further out, so ask. There is a charge for delivery and pick-up, based on the type of equipment and the distance travelled.
Pick-up and yard hours: you can also pick up from our yard at 1810 Yellow Head Trail NE, Edmonton AB T6S 1B4. We are open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are closed Saturdays, but Saturday pick-up or delivery is available by appointment.
Towing it yourself? Most of our equipment can be towed behind a half-ton truck or equivalent SUV with a properly sized and rated ball and hitch, but some machines need a three-quarter-ton truck, and larger machines need a heavy transport company or our delivery. Ask us which applies to your machine.
Equipment must come back with the same amount of fuel it went out with, much like a rental car.
Generator and light tower rental FAQ
What size generator do I need?
Add up the running watts of everything you will run at once, then allow extra for motor starting loads. Our generators are rated 27 kW (35 kVA) and 47.5 kW (60 kVA) prime. Send us your equipment list and we will help.
Can your generators supply single-phase and three-phase power?
Yes. Both models can be set for 480/277 V or 208/120 V three-phase, or 240/120 V single-phase.
How long will a light tower run?
Generac rates the MLT6SMD at up to 215 hours on its 43 gallon tank with the LED lights, depending on load.
Is fuel included?
Equipment must be returned with the same amount of fuel it had when it went out.
How is delivery priced, and how far do you deliver?
There is a charge for delivery and pick-up, based on the type of equipment and the distance travelled. We deliver across the greater Edmonton area with our own trucks within about 160 km of our yard, and can arrange delivery further out.
